Inspired by Nature, Made by Hand
Drawing and colour are at the heart of my practice. Inspiration comes from the flora, fauna and patterns of the natural world. I love the freedom of working across different disciplines, materials and surfaces, letting ideas move between paper, print, paint, interiors and the decorative arts, while always retaining the marks of the hand that made them.
The Studio
I work from my dedicated print and painting studio in Edinburgh, a space for drawing, screen printing, painting and making by hand. Printing runs through generations of my family, from lithography and traditional printmaking to bookbinding and marbling, giving the craft of print a special place in my life and work. Today, that heritage continues through my own practice, where drawing, print, paint and decorative arts come together under one roof.

Created for Virgin Hotels Edinburgh, The Spellbinding Suite is an immersive hand painted interior inspired by medieval decoration, mythical creatures and the natural world. Richly layered colour, botanical forms and fantastical beasts come together across the space to create a contemporary enchanted world.
Kelburn Castle | William Morris Wallpaper Restoration
A heritage interiors project recreating a historic William Morris wallpaper for Kelburn Castle in Ayrshire. Working from the original design, the wallpaper was carefully recreated and hand screen printed, bringing traditional printmaking and craftsmanship back into the historic interior.
Black Grouse Beneath the Bracken | Forstairs Interior Design
Black Grouse Beneath the Bracken, a 10-colour screen print created for Forstairs Interior Design, brings together hand-drawn imagery, screen printing and hand-painted detailing. Inspired by the Scottish natural world, the piece combines a black grouse with layered foliage, expressive colour and decorative pattern.

Abbotsford worked with Lynsey on a unique design project to create an interpretative dinner service in the house built by Sir Walter Scott and also bespoke artwork for the dining space in the newly created dining space. Lynsey was a joy to work with, understanding the brief from the outset and working with us to achieve a stunning outcome. Given the Georgian townhouse setting, this had to be done in a subtle fashion , which Lynsey worked on in terms of scale of pattern and colour scheme. We’re delighted with the results, and guests comment on how fantastic it looks in the drawing and dining room.

As part of a touring exhibition that explored how drawing is used in lots of varied professions, we commissioned Lynsey to produce a wallpaper design based on her consummate nature studies and sketches. We were delighted with the outcome – the final design was amazing, and she supported it with drawings and sketches that clearly explained the process from start to finish.
